Polybutadiene rubber is a homopolymer produced by the polymerization of 1,3-butadiene, using either Ziegler-Natta catalyst based, such as Ni, Co and Ti, or n-BuLi.
Polybutadiene rubber has three different chemical units in the microstructure, i.e., 1,4-cis, 1,4-trans and 1,2-vinyl. Polybutadiene rubber can be divided into High cis BR (HBR) and Low cis BR (LBR) depending on its 1,4-cis content. KUMHO KBR has a 1,4-cis content of more than 94%. In addition to the very low glass transition temperature around -100 , it has excellent abrasion resistance, resiliency, aging resistance, and weather resistance which has made it the most widely used synthetic rubber along with SBR.
We mainly produce KUMHO KBR 01, 01L, and 31. KBR 01 and 01L are usually used in tires, footwears, belts, rubber hoses, and other mechanical rubber products, whereas KBR 31, containing aromatic oil, is mainly used in conveyer belts and tires due to its excellent performance in the treads of snow tires. |
